Role Details:

Salary – £35k – 40k pa (DOE) + performance bonuses for hitting targets.

Work where you want, remote, in our Lincoln or Grimsby office or a mixture of both. As long as you’re productive, comfortable and safe we don’t mind.

This is a full-time position (min 35 hours per week) but we’re flexible on the working times, start/end.

You’ll need the following skills:

  • An expert with HTML, CSS and JS with strong experience with preprocessors such as SASS and LESS
  • A sharp eye for detail, we like our builds to be pixel perfect
  • Understanding of build processes, such as Webpack and Gulp
  • Familiarity with version control and platforms such as GitHub
  • Experience with WordPress – building custom themes, plugins and making the impossible possible
  • Previous experience with at least one other web/CMS framework such as Laravel, Magento, Drupal
  • Able to quickly learn the structure of new (or old) projects and understand how they work
  • The drive to be constantly improving the performance and structure of your code
  • A good understanding of current accessibility guidelines and to be able to detect what is and isn’t accessible
  • Ability to look back at your work objectively and stress test
  • Be able to share your knowledge with the rest of the team, advise on questions/problems and aid the progression of our junior developers
  • Familiar with working on live and unmanaged server environments via the command line and know their way around a Linux/web server setup.
  • Excellent at writing good documentation for the work you have produced which would allow the rest of the team to pick up exactly where you left off
  • Up to date with best practices and to be able to advise the rest of the team on these
  • Good written/vocal communication skills both internally and to our clients
  • Be comfortable stepping up to be the lead on a project – regularly reviewing progress and advising project management, and managing/assisting other developers on that project
  • To be able to work to set and adhere to deadlines

Bonus skills:

  • CSS Framework experience, preferably Tailwind
  • Laravel experience
  • A base understanding of Magento
  • Understanding of eCommerce platforms
  • Familiar with Adobe Suite, such as XD and Photoshop
  • Previous agency experience

General skills:

  • A good understanding of office software, in particular G Suite
  • Excellent organisation skills to keep yourself on track
  • A balanced approach to our clients and projects, what’s right for them vs what’s right for us
  • Always willing to learn and grow – and knowing when to ask for help
  • A positive attitude, no mood hoovers!

What you’ll be working on:

  • Front-end development on new and exciting websites/applications for our clients in a variety of platforms
  • Adding to existing builds, for example refreshing styles, adding new content layouts and improving performance
  • Working closely with our design team to produce stunning visuals and UX and the marketing team to ensure our projects stand out from the crowd
  • Some relevant back-end development such as custom API integrations
  • Aiding our support team to maintain our catalogue of sites
  • Working on some top secret internal projects
