Coffee, cake and chats for a good cause
Each year, Macmillan hosts the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, inviting people across the UK to come together and raise money for this amazing charity. What started in 1990 as a small local fundraiser has now grown into Macmillan’s biggest event, raising millions per year to support those affected by cancer.
After a great success last year, we are pleased to announce that Laser Red will be hosting our second Macmillan coffee morning!
On Friday 27th September, from 9 am to 1:30 pm, we’ll be opening the doors of our Grimsby office to serve up a range of drinks and delicious treats, and we would love nothing more than for you to join us.
Macmillan has been making a difference for over 100 years, providing critical support to people living with cancer and their families. From providing nurses to building cancer support centres and providing a support line, Macmillan is always there for families, loved ones, and victims of cancer.
In Memory of Paul Holloway ❤️
This year, our coffee morning is in memory of our much missed colleague, Paul Holloway.
Paul had recently been diagnosed with cancer of the bladder, however, he sadly passed away due to other causes before his treatment could start.
In December we held a surprise 60th Birthday celebration as part of our Christmas Party. Paul was over the moon, and it certainly made the night extra special.
Remembering loved ones
We are also remembering Al Barnes, who passed away in 2023 and is the much loved and missed stepfather of one of our team. Al inspired our first coffee morning last year & we are honoured to host another in both his, and Paul’s memory.
With 1 in 2 people in the UK predicted to face cancer in their lifetime, Macmillan’s work is more important than ever. Macmillan Cancer Support is 98% funded by voluntary donations so it is events like these that really do make a difference.
Last year, we raised an incredible £1,226.13 with our first coffee morning, and we’d like to try and do even better this year! It was such a meaningful experience for our team, bringing people together for a great cause, and we’re looking forward to hosting another fantastic event.
