Another Successful Coffee Morning for Macmillan
Thank you for helping us raise an incredible ÂŁ1,185
Thank you to everyone who joined us
This year’s Macmillan Coffee Morning was another huge success, raising over £1,000 for an incredible cause! We couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of everyone who joined us in person and those who donated online.
Your generosity means so much, and we are beyond grateful to be part of such a caring community.
Though the weather didn’t exactly cooperate, we didn’t let it dampen our spirits. A little quick thinking on the part of our team found us rearranging our front room to find space for all of the delicious bakes and Liam’s coffee station.
It was lovely seeing so many people come to support us this year, and you can read more about why this coffee morning was even more special to everyone in our Macmillan coffee morning blog post from last month.
The bakes that stole the show
It wouldn’t be a coffee morning without some seriously tasty bakes, and this year’s offering was nothing short of impressive.
Our talented team went above and beyond, with everyone contributing their home-baked creations.
The sausage rolls, which we all remember selling out almost instantly last year, had a queue before they’d even arrived. Clearly they have become a fan favourite, well worth the visit next year if you missed them this year.
There was also a cinnamon roll cake that had people coming back for seconds (and thirds), incredible cupcakes, a variety of cookies, flapjacks and of course, plenty of cakes.
Whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer something savoury, there was something for everyone to enjoy.
The deceptively heavy chocolate cake
This year saw the return of our “Guess the Weight of the Cake” competition. The cake, an absolute masterpiece, had everyone fooled with its weight.
There were plenty of guesses, but only one lucky person nailed it and walked away with the entire chocolatey lot.
While it looked light and airy, it tipped the scales at a whopping 3kg, which left the winner struggling to carry it out of the building.
Raffle prizes
In addition to the mountains of baked goods, we also held a raffle to raise even more funds for Macmillan.
Our raffle prizes were a big hit, with several lucky winners going home with some fantastic goodies including football tickets and a bottle of Moet.
We were also fortunate to have some jars of local honey, kindly donated by a nearby beekeeper.
It was a sweet reminder of how much local support and community spirit went into making this event such a success.
A day of connection & conversation
While the cakes and raffles were certainly a highlight, what made the day truly special was the people.
We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces and new ones too.
The coffee morning provided a wonderful opportunity for people to come together, catch up, and have a chat.
The buzz of conversation and laughter filled our small front room, making the event feel warm and welcoming, despite the weather outside.
It was inspiring to see how many people took the time to stop by, say hello, and support Macmillan.
Continuing support for macmillan
This coffee morning marked our second year participating in Macmillan’s annual event, and it’s safe to say it’s now firmly part of our company calendar.
The work Macmillan does continues long after the last slice of cake has been eaten.
We’re constantly inspired by their mission to provide support and care for those affected by cancer.
From funding nurses who provide essential care to offering emotional and practical guidance, Macmillan’s work is incredibly important in helping people navigate one of the most challenging times of their lives.
Even though this year’s coffee morning is behind us, it’s never too late to get involved and support Macmillan’s cause.
You can donate directly through their website, host your own fundraising event, or simply spread the word about the incredible work they do.
Every little bit helps and contributes to making a big difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
Another big thank you
A massive thank you once again to everyone who helped make our Macmillan Coffee Morning a success.
Whether you baked, donated, came along for a chat, or helped spread the word, we couldn’t have done it without you.
We’ve already started thinking about how we will continue to support the many charities that are close to our hearts next year.
Including another coffee morning and some brand new events we know you’re going to love hearing about.
