Recently we gave a warm welcome to our newest team member, Alex. Alex is taking on a slightly different role at Laser Red, which opens us up to the world of PR & Comms.
After leaving school, Alex packed his bags and left his home town of Grimsby to study for a BA Hons degree in Public Relations at the University of Central Lancashire. After graduating, Alex got his first professional break at a local marketing agency called Marksman International as their PR Manager. After leaving his first Job, Alex moved to the Grimsby Institute as their PR Officer before getting a management opportunity with Nisa way back in 2007. He then spent the next 15yrs there as head of PR & comms.
When asking why Alex decided to switch things up and join Laser Red, this was his answer:
“I joined Laser Red after speaking to Liam about his ambitions to deliver a PR & Comms service to clients and for Laser Red and felt I could offer something to what seemed like an exciting and growing company. I love landing a PR campaign that sees lots of coverage achieved and helps to deliver business objectives. I’m looking forward to helping Laser Red grow through both its increased services and also by letting even more people know about us.”
In his free time, Alex loves to be with his family. He has 2 children, one that has just started secondary school, and a younger one who has entered year 3! He also enjoys time spent at the gym, listening to music and watching movies. Alex’s biggest passion is reading and writing, which really works well in his favour as our Head of PR & Comms!
Alex’s claim to fame is that he once spent a whole weekend on the phone to newspapers and TV stations from around the world, including the Washington Post and New York Times, after a story he was working on went global. Pretty crazy, right?!
